Abstract

The objective of this contribution is to present new records of the occurrence of Sphoeroides pachygaster, based on 8 specimens deposited in a scientific collection of 175-313 mm in standard length weighing 178.7-1 010 g, which were captured south of Veracruz, southwestern Gulf of Mexico. In addition, meristic and morphometric data of the captured specimens are given and discussed as support for identification.
