Abstract
En 2022, Sphyraena qenie fue un nuevo registro para El Salvador, ampliando su distribución conocida en Centroamérica, donde se ha reportado previamente en Guatemala y Panamá. Se realizaron censos visuales y se colectaron especímenes en Acajutla. Las características taxonómicas que diferencian de Sphyraena qenie de S. ensis son: 18-22 barras oblicuas, 120-130 escamas en la línea lateral, dos espinas y 8 radios en la aleta.
