Abstract

David Grundy, a member of the Editorial Board, identified this paper by Lord Hinton while searching through some back copies of old AEAE journals. He considered that the paper provided an excellent summary of the early years of the UK atomic programme but also provided many insights into the design, build and operation of nuclear plants, which are still valid today. Consequently, he believed that this paper would be of considerable interest to readers of Nuclear Energy.
