Abstract

Basic principles of nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) are outlined in this chapter. Both one-dimensional and two-dimensional versions of NOE are discussed here, the latter being denoted as nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY). Rotating-frame versions of the experiments are briefly highlighted, being termed as rotating-frame Overhauser effect (ROE) and the two-dimensional analogue, ROE spectroscopy (ROESY).Representative experimental examples are shown for both NOESY and ROESY.
