Abstract

High-resolution electronic spectra of the 0–1 band of the Swan system (d 3Π g -a 3Π u ) of 13C2 have been recorded using sub-Doppler laser spectroscopy. Carbon-13 nuclear hyperfine structure is resolved in many of the rotational lines. The orbital-nuclear, Fermi contact, spin-dipolar and hyperfine lambda-doubling hyperfine parameters in both electronic states are obtained from an analysis of the spectra and their values are discussed in terms of the electronic wavefunctions for the electronic states.
