Abstract

• Trust management has become a reliable method of ensuring the security and stability of performance of wireless sensor networks including wireless body area networks. • In this paper, variation of membership function has lead to the development of fuzzy logic based technique. • The performance of trust factor is measured by the cost function depending on residual energy and traffic. • In reality the selfish nodes do not forward the messages, hence a factor of trust needs to be considered. Trust management has become a reliable method of ensuring the security and stability of performance of wireless sensor networks including wireless body area networks. In case of varieties of attacks all nodes cannot be considered to be cooperative. Based on Fuzzy logic such selfish nodes are analyzed keeping residual power as the most important factor for reluctance of the nodes which are not cooperating by suitably judging defuzzification and memberships. A novel method has been proposed in this paper having better results.
