Abstract

A novel W-band radial power combiner/divider based on circular sectoral waveguide TE01 mode is presented in this paper. By analyzing the field distribution characteristics of the circular sectoral waveguide, we designed an equal amplitude and in-phase power combiner/divider which consists of a circular sectoral waveguide TE01-mode transducer and a 6-way power divider. In the 88-97 GHz frequency range, the measured insertion loss of this power combiner/divider is less than 0.75dB and the measured return loss at the input port is better than 20dB. This power/divider can reduce the order of the operating mode and has better mode rejection and compact size than the circular waveguide TE01 mode power combiner/divider, and can be scaled to the terahertz frequency band.
