Abstract
Lasers have been versatile tools to investigate physical phenomena and they have paved the way for exploring novel physics. Recently, scientists have become excited about the advent of the ultra-intense laser with extreme output power. The output power of the ultra-intense laser will soon reach multi-10 PW and thus, it can provide opportunities to explore novel physics such as photon-photon interaction and vacuum behavior in the strong laser field. Currently, a large ultra-intense laser facility has been pursued in Korea. Here, the current status, applications, and prospects of the ultra-intense laser facility are introduced.
