Abstract
A novel nanocomposite constituted by Al-10wt.%Bi alloy (Al-10Bi) and MoS2 was prepared by uniaxial compaction of ball-milled powders. It has been hypothesized that the catalytic nature of MoS2 in the nanocomposite may enhance the hydrolysis activity. The nanocomposite with 15 wt% of MoS2 exhibited the highest H2 conversion yield of 83 % within 20 min in tap water at room temperature. The conversion yield could be increased by 11 % by preparing the nanocomposite.
