Abstract

A new kind of multi-channel–channel filter, based on the strongly discretely chirped sampled Bragg grating, has been proposed and studied. Compared with the previous methods, the step-chirp number is much smaller or the nonlinearity chirp inherent in the strongly chirped holographic phase mask can be avoided. Based on the analysis and numerical simulations, it has been shown that high-performance multi-channel comb filter can be realized in such a simple structure.
