Abstract

Magnetization measurements of single crystal YbMn2Ge2 were performed in temperature range from 4.2 to 290K under magnetic fields up to 13T, indicating a novel magnetic phase diagram. The results suggest that the Mn 3d–Mn 3d ferromagnetic interaction enhanced by magnetic field competes a strong antiferromagnetic correlation in Mn sublattice which is originated in a significant Mn 3d–Yb 4f hybridization.
