Abstract

A novel flavone glycoside (m.p. 287-288 °C), C 36 H 46 O 21 , [M] + 814 (FABMS), was obtained from ethyl acetate soluble fraction of the ethanolic extract of the pods of Ougeinia dalbergioides (Benth.). It was characterized as 5,4'-dihydroxy-3,6,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone-5-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl(1→3)-O-α-l-arabinopyranosyl(1→4)-O-β-D-galactopyranoside by various chemical degradations and spectral analysis.
