Abstract

In this work, two-dimensional metal organic framework nanosheets (2D MOFs)-based oil-in-water emulsion was successfully fabricated by self-assembly interface. The emulsification results showed that the 2D MOFs nanosheets was capable of stably forming the self-assembly interface over the oil droplet surface. Furthermore, the 2D ZIF-11-based emulsion exhibited the most excellent anti-friction and anti-wear performance as well as extreme pressure performance, separately attaining 16.7% and 38.7% decreases in friction coefficient and wear volume, while keeping 11.3% increase in the maximum non-seizure load (PB).
