Abstract

This paper presents novel design of antenna structure using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The new design of this antenna is composed of an SIW square cavity backed two parallel and rectangular radiating slots. This antenna has a linear polarization and resonates at 5.72 GHz. This simple configuration is efficiently employed to retain an improved fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 6.5% but also compact size. The materials employed are not commonly used for electronic devices as paper substrate and adhesive copper in order to develop green electronic devices and maintain an ultra low-cost manufacturing process.
