Abstract

The paper presents a novel design of an antenna in a finite ground coplanar waveguide (CPW) circuit. A CPW feed is further characterized by its length, width, input impedance, radiation pattern and gain. A coplanar patch antenna for single band has been proposed at 11.8 GHz with about 3.04dB gain and the design has been extended for multiband with about 5.6 dB gain and an improved bandwidth which renders uniqueness to the design. Critical and simulation results reveal that the proposed design is applicable for X-band application.
