Abstract

A new method of processing beryllium raw materials, based on the interaction of the beryllium mineral with ammonium fluoride, was developed. The possibility of extracting ammonium tetrafluoroberyllate from bertrandite and phenakite minerals was demonstrated. The technology developed enables replacement of the outdated sulfate technology developed by the Materion Corporation. The proposed fluoride method for processing beryllium concentrates will make it possible to develop a technology with a low production cost.
