Abstract
The traditional model of education is based on the assumption that the teacher is the bearer of knowledge and the students are passive receivers of this knowledge. New education models focus on the development of students´ skills and abilities. These models are based on the assumption that students are active participants in the learning process. The contribution deals with the analysis of new methods of education, individual types, advantages and disadvantages of the application of these new models. A special space is dedicated to the so-called electronic education. e-learning, which is among the most used new models applied in the educational process.
