Abstract
After activating the NOTIS Acquisitions/Serials module it became apparent that the job descriptions, classification, and pay grades of the non-professional staff at the Houston Cole Library at Jacksonville State University should be revised. Seeking support documentation for a proposed staff reclassification, the authors conducted a survey of NOTIS libraries to gather information on pre-automation and post-automation environments to determine the general impact of NOTIS implementation on technical services staffing and compensation. The survey included questions on professional staff. This article discusses the changes in Technical Services staffing and organization as reported by the responding libraries.
