Abstract
ABSTRACT Migrating from Innovative’s Sierra to OCLC WorldShare during the COVID-19 quarantine was the incentive to try a novel approach to transferring open serial and monograph orders using WorldShare’s application programming interfaces (APIs). At a time when staff training and supervision would have been difficult or impossible, and in the absence of a standard procedure for migrating acquisitions data to WorldShare, we were nevertheless able to accomplish this task with a small team working remotely. Instead of recreating orders manually in the new system, we took advantage of the APIs and the flexible structure of order records in WorldShare to systematically and reliably migrate data exported from Sierra.
