Abstract

With economy developing rapidly, traditional project management mode need more improvement in order to fit with various large construction project. The contradiction between high demand and poor management becomes highlight. Especially for the owner, his capability and behavior during Project Management (PM) are keys deciding to the realization of project goal. As the inevitable result of scientist development, despite some general characters for every types of project management mode, continuous exploration and innovation are needed instead of traditional and consistent production and management mode. In this paper, focusing on owner's project management mode, there is a comparison of project management mode in China with ones in United State and Germany firstly. According to the comparison and analysis, based on the case of an university's new campus construction in Chongqing, we can see the innovation, problems and positive results of owner's project management model. At last, some suggestions for owner of large construction project to carry out project management are put forward.
