Abstract
Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates community service with academic instruction and reflection to enrich students further understanding of course content, meet genuine community needs, develop career-related skills, and become responsible citizens. This paper explores the potentialities of the application of Service Learning to the supplement and improvement of CET (College English Teaching) in China by a case study to find a neo-channel to develop students full capacity in language learning through the methods of the sample class and non-sample class comparisons to give a certified teaching method. The study combines the quantitative and qualitative research to probe into the practical feasibility and effectiveness of integrating service learning mode and CET education in China with its real establishment in CET.
