Abstract
Os psitacídeos são aves que apresentam comportamento alimentar diversificado, se alimentando principalmente de itens de origem vegetal, como sementes e frutos. Forpus xanthopterygius é a menor ave brasileira da família Psittacidae e apresenta flexibilidade comportamental de forrageamento em razão da disponibilidade sazonal de itens de sua dieta. Registrou-se, ocasionalmente, durante a estação seca, indivíduos de F. xanthopterygius alimentando-se de folhas de Salvinia auriculata sobre o solo encharcado de uma lagoa no sudeste do Brasil.
