Abstract

This paper presents descriptions and a key to the four known North American species of the genus Kawamuracarus Uchida, including the previously known species K. longisetus Cook from Indiana, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee and K. serratipalpus Cook from Arizona and New Mexico, and two new species, K. cramerae sp.nov. and K. gilaensis sp. nov., from New Mexico. All species of this genus inhabit gravel deposits in the hyporheic zone of streams.
