Abstract

This chapter has as focus the normative quandaries in immersive journalism. Questions addressed are the following: How do immersive technologies, when deployed in journalism, affect normative boundaries in journalism? What challenges and concerns do immersive technologies pose to journalistic norms? By undertaking these questions, the author discusses how immersive technologies create pressure on journalistic norms and make journalism renegotiate its boundaries, pushing them and perhaps making new norms to emerge. New practices are forming in journalism always in parallel with the introduction and deployment of new technologies in journalism, including immersive media.
