Abstract

The Newton-iteration based harmonic-balance (HB) technique is generally acknowledged as the principal method for the simulation of nonlinear circuits driven by multitone excitations. The authors propose a new implementation of the HB principle, named the inexact-Newton harmonic balance (INHB). This method provides a well-behaved and efficient solution to the problem of HB simulation with very large numbers of closely spaced spectral lines.
