Abstract

With the use of the nonequilibrium Keldysh diagram technique we calculate the nonlinear optical susceptibility of combined Peierls dielectrics for the process of third harmonic generation. Slow relaxation of carriers is taken into account. The frequency dependence of the susceptibility has a resonance structure. The square root divergencies at frequencies corresponding to one-third and the total band gap are smeared out by damping.
