Abstract
AbstractA theory of a nonlinear magnetooptical phenomena associated with free carriers in semiconductors is proposed. Starting from a nonlinear Boltzmann equation, the effects of optical mixing and higher harmonics generation are predicted. The calculations are carried out assuming nonparabolic energy band of ellipsoidal symmetry. Thus the results can be applied to a wide class of semiconductors as for example to all those with one energy minimum as well as to many‐valley semiconductors.
