Abstract

Nonlinear and photo-induced transmission and Faraday rotation spectra recorded in the one beam and time-resolved pump-and-probe beam configurations provide information on the physical origin of the Faraday effects in CdTe/CdMnTe quantum wells. Band filling and many-body effects, laser emission on red-shifted transitions, and induced magnetization are demonstrated by such experiments.
