Abstract
The healing rate, as measured by bursting strength in 5 days of jejunal anastomoses in protein depleted rats is not improved by a) feeding stock diet rather than protein free diet following surgery or b) infusing a total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solution known to improve the healing rate of jejunal anastomoses in normal rats rather than either a standard TPN solution or 5% glucose.
