Nonhomogeneous nondispersive waves: classification

Abstract

We prove that the scalar wave equation has nonhomogeneous nondispersive solutions depending on F( u) where F is an arbitrary function and u a solution of the characteristic equation. We give a classification of these nondispersive waves according to the form of u and to the summability properties of the function F.
