Abstract

Understanding the relationship between charge transport and morphology is critical for improving the efficiency of conjugatcd polymer-based devices. Time of flight measurements are used here to examine hole transport in films of poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexoxy)-1,4,-phenylene) (MEH-PPV). Films cast from three different solvents, toluene, p-xylene. and chlorobenzene, are investigated. It is shown that the MEH-PPV films can exhibit either nondispersive or dispersive transport. depending on the solvent used.
