Abstract
In order to measure the vertical beam position in the wiggler beam line at CHESS (Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source) a position monitor was constructed which measures the vertical beam positions of two beams passing through it, one from the 6-pole wiggler and one from the following dipole. The position monitor is a split ionization chamber with a resolution better than 10 μm and a bandwidth of greater than 100 Hz over a linear range of 5 mm.
