Abstract

Rational resource consumption and resource conservation are one of the most effective and priority ways to ensure sustainable economic development. The purpose of the article is to study the categories and low-waste production on the example of agro-industrial complex. Problem’s setting . Products in accordance with the law of conservation of matter and energy can always be converted to corresponding products, therefore economic attractiveness and the prospects of the use of modern waste-free production. are obvious . The main part . Non-waste productions grounds on complete and rational use of raw materials in order to ensure the maximum possible cyclicality of material flows. Low-waste production, acting as an intermediate stage for non-waste productions, ensures the conversion of a part of raw materials into unused waste that is sent for long storage or disposal; thus harmful influence on the environment does not exceed the level allowed by sanitary-hygienic norms. Results and discussion. Non-waste production provides the most rational and highly productive use of resources and at the same time the most widespread use of generated wastes. Conclusions and recommendations. The non-waste production strategy is based on the fact that unused waste is at the same time an incompletely used resource and a source of environmental pollution. Non-waste technology is the principle of functioning of agriculture and agro-industrial complex, which rationally uses all components of raw materials and energy in a closed cycle and does not violate ecological balance.
