Abstract

The criminalization of teachers in reality is an issue that deserves attention. This shift in outlook has formed the idea that parents have mandated teachers to educate their children in formal institutions such as schools, but ironically when teachers take disciplinary action, parents choose shortcuts by criminalizing teachers. Such reality shapes the attitude of teachers who are apathetic in carrying out their duties as educators, and this fact will worsen the face of education. This study reveals the problem of the importance of non-penal policies in tackling teacher criminalization in the framework of realizing the protection of equitable teachers. Through sociological juridical research methods, the results of the study revealed that one of the important strategic steps to be taken in minimizing the criminalization of teachers in carrying out their profession in order to realize equitable teacher protection is through non-penal policies, namely forming a container that can provide protection for teachers, which is referred to as the Service Unit Teacher Law and Protection.
