Abstract

Sideranthus viscidus was described by Wooton and Standley from a specimen collected near Hope, Eddy County, New Mexico. One additional specimen was cited from Dayton, about 21 air miles southeast of the type locality. The authors remarked on the distinctness of the leaves and densely viscid pubescence of their new species, but they did not give any leaf measurements in either their original diagnosis or their later Flora of New Mexico (Wooton & Standley, 1915).
