Abstract

Abstract The “New Opportunities for Better User Group Software” (NOBUGS) workshop was held at ILL/ESRF in Grenoble, France, from January 10 to 13, 1996. This “hands-on” workshop examined the application-development tools and methods used to implement data-collection, reduction and analysis software at both neutron and synchrotron sources. The range of software available for these tasks is now vast and the aim of the NOBUGS workshop was to bring together people from different institutes to compare, contrast and exchange the means by which they tackle similar software problems. Amongst the 60 participants there were representatives from virtually all major synchrotron and neutron sources.
