Abstract

The uptake of iron by erythroid bone marrow cells, hepatocytes and stimulated T-lymphocytes from monoferric transferrins A and B in vitro is equal. Ferrokinetic measurements in vivo show also that there exists no functional difference between the two iron-binding sites of transferrin with respect to their iron delivery.
