Abstract

Sonochemical method has been used for graphene oxide functionalization (f-GrO). The acoustic cavitation acts as a small reactor to induce in-situ temperature (T) for GrO functionalization with 5-Amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol (ATDT) [f-(ATDT)GrO] as nitrogen functionalized graphene oxide (N-f-GrO). The thermal stability (TS) of N-f-GrO was confirmed using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) with total % wt. loss of 51.7 at 231.8 °C. The establishment of new electronic entities in N-f-GrO was confirmed with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (SXAS), X-ray diffraction (XRD). The characteristics functional groups were confirmed with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and 13C solid-state NMR (SSNMR). Insight structural cell viabilities of N-f-GrO at 10-80 µg/ml on MCF-7 and Vero cell lines were observed average values of 98.02 and 88.65 % respectively using Sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay.
