Abstract
For the first time the full X-ray study of one and the same KTiOPO4 single crystal - non-irradiated, irradiated by electrons with Ee = 1.3 MeV up to the absorbed dose of 1×106 Gy and irradiated by fast neutrons (En ⩾ 0.1 MeV) at the integral neutron flux of about 1×1013 cm−2s−1 up to the total fluence of 1.9×1019 cm−2 was carried out. No considerable changes in the crystal structure were found, what testifies to high radiation stability of the given material in comparison with the other related compounds. The tendency to equalize Ti-O bond lengths was revealed, what permits to expect serious radiation-induced changes in a structure at neutron fluences of ⩾ 1020 cm-2.
