Abstract
The Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) has endeavored to satisfy biological data needs through organism surveys and data analysis for more than 50 years. Participation in and guidance of these efforts over the last 25 years has led me to collect a series of observations about doing good monitoring science in the Estuary and attempting to coordinate such science across multiple agencies and management imperatives. These are nine overarching observations and reflections put together for a recent IEP Annual Workshop.
