Abstract

In this study, the population of Beypazari district is examined under the geographical point of view. To reveal the mutual relations of the population with its space geology, topography and soil maps, and meteorological station data of Beypazari were used. The results of the census conducted between 1927 and 2011 were used as basic data. Based on these data, the change of the population over the years, spatial distribution, density, age and sex structure, population movements (migrations), rural and urban characteristics are put forth, obtained results were evaluated with the help of tables and figures. The results of the study revealed that there were major structural changes in the population of Beypazari. It is determined that migrations under various natural environment conditions and socio-economic facts, caused important changes in the structure of the population in Beypazari. It had been examined causes and consequences of changes in the structure of population. In order to examine the population changes in Beypazari and to make a prediction of population in future, time-series analysis has been made. By comparing the results of analysis, the models that best describes the population are determined, and the estimation of population has been made by means of these models.
