Abstract

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses new trends in the method of social sciences and especially of the economic sciences. Some implications of the object and method of sciences connected to the development of the dialectic process of integration and differentiation in the present-day evolution of science. The chapter outlines some of the significant features of the dialectic process of integration and differentiation appearing in the evolution of science. The factors seem to influence the development of this process under the conditions of the present-day scientific and technical revolution and of increased social requirements for science. It obviously has some implications for the object and method of the social sciences in general and of the economic sciences in particular. One of the essential features in the evolution of present-day sciences is the dialectic process of differentiation and integration. In the evolution of science and of scientific knowledge, several essential steps were recorded. The form in which the trends of integration and differentiation are materialized may be identified in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies.
