Abstract
Childhood non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounts for approximately 6 to 7% of all childhood cancers diagnosed below the age of 15 in the United States and consists of four major histological subtypes of both intermediate and high-grade NHL including Burkitt lymphoma (BL), lymphoblastic lymphoma (LL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) (Cairo et al. 2005). While there are a large number of other histological subtypes of NHL that may occur in children, they only account for 95% of all NHL in children (Cairo et al. 2005; Pinkerton 2005).
