Abstract
Six newly recorded taxa, Chlamydomonas pertusa Chodat, Coenochloris pyrenoidosa Korshikov, Coenocystis tapasteana Komárek, Katagnymene accurata Geitler, Phormidium stagninum Anagnostidis, and Scytonema coactile Montagne ex Bornet & Flahault, were described from epipelic, epilithic, and epiphytic materials of the 17 high mountain lakes and a pond in Artabel Lakes Nature Park. The morphology of all species was examined by light microscopy. In this paper, the morphology, ecology, and distribution of these species are discussed. Photos of the species are also provided.

The second visit was made on 13 August 2016 and samples were taken from Acembol (ACL) and Yıldız (YL) lakes, İsimsiz Lake (IL), and Yıldız Lakes Pond (YLP)
Very rare (VR): taxa recorded in 1%–20% of investigated lakes; rare (R): taxa recorded in 21%–40% of investigated lakes; common (C): taxa recorded in 41%–60% of investigated lakes; frequent (F): taxa recorded in 61%–80% of investigated lakes; very frequent (VF): taxa recorded in 81%–100% of investigated lakes (Kocataş, 1992)
Summary
High mountain lakes are located in all latitudes, from the equator to the poles, and have many common characteristics. They are usually characterized by small surface area, shallowness, and poor biodiversity. High mountain lakes are not resistant to environmental changes and are quickly affected by them. They are used as monitoring systems for early warning and are suitable for biological studies on extreme environments (Psenner, 2003; Catalan et al, 2006).
