Abstract
Last year at Westmar College we tried a new procedure for teaching the college mathematics course “Fundamentals of Mathematics.” This course is designed primarily to meet a general-education requirement and is usually taken by students during their freshman year. Although Westmar is a private, church-related, four-year college, our design for a freshman mathematics course may be applicable to other two- or four-year colleges.
