NEW NORMAL INFLUENCE ON TOURISM ACTIVITIES IN PAPUA PROVINCE

Abstract

Tourism activities are one of the main sectors that support the increase in Indonesia's regional and national income. However, as a result of the emergence of COVID-19, the regional economy collapsed and experienced a crisis along with other sectors. The existence of the Covid-19 virus greatly affected the entire tourism industry sector in its operations. This situation eventually gave rise to the implementation of the new normal which also changed the thoughts and behavior of all parties affected. Various solutions from the existence of the new normal implementation are very interesting for research experts and tourism observers. The purpose of this research is to be able to identify the effects of the new normal on tourism activities in the province of Papua and to provide the right solution for the existence of the implementation of the new normal in the tourism industry sector in the province of Papua. The qualitative method used in this research is to collect data through journals, qualitative research articles to get accurate results regarding the implementation of the new normal and that new normal can be said to be a wise and positive step taken by the government to encourage development and progress. in the tourism industry sector in the province of Papua and looking for the right solution to help the government stabilize the tourism economic crisis.
