Abstract

New mechanisms of the appearance of chaos in a ring solid-state laser are identified. The results are given of experimental and theoretical investigations of dynamic and spectral characteristics of such a laser. The appearance of dynamic chaos is attributed to parametric interactions between self-modulation and relaxation oscillations.
