Abstract

Microwave optics – the application of optics to microwave signal transmission and processing – has emerged over the past few years as a new and exciting technology. Advances in solid state, optoelectronic and fibre optic technologies have led to laser diodes capable of being modulated at many gigahertz and to optical fibres that can carry RF signals with minimum dispersion.
