Abstract
Helen J. (Joyce) Peters, California Department of Water Resources, is the newly appointed chairman of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) Subcommittee of the U.S. National Committee for the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). As such, Peters also will be recognized by IAHS as the U.S. National Correspondent to IAHS. One of her first duties will be to implement a new item contained in the revised IAHS bylaws, which states: “National committees should draw up lists of hydrologists in their countries who are willing and qualified to participate actively in the work of the association (IAHS).” Peters will be assembling such a list in the near future to send to the Secretary General of IAHS. Hydrologists who are interested and qualified should send a letter to Peters indicating the discipline or activity in which active participation is desired, to be accompanied by a short (one typewritten page) resume describing education, experience, specialty, title, and full mailing address. Your letter should be mailed to H. J. Peters, California Department of Water Resources, PO Box 388, Sacramento, CA 95802.
