Abstract
The International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) is the oldest and foremost of the International nongovernmental organizations dealing with hydrology and water resources. It was established in 1922 and is one of the seven associations that together form the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). The others are the International Association of Geodesy (IAG), the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior (IASPEI), the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI), the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA), the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics (IAMAP), and the International Association of Physical Sciences of the Ocean (IAPSO).
